A unique feature of Winamp is Winamp Remote. It allows users to stream their music playlists over the Internet to other users or to portable devices.

Winamp also supports importing music and playback from CD players. CDs can also be created and burned through the software, though the basic version limits the speed.

A Pro version of the Winamp software is available for $19.95. Additional features that are included in the Pro version are the ability to play videos, MP3 encoding, and unrestricted audio CD burning.
